Who Am I?
Wife, Mom, Grandma, Educator, Candidate
As a child: I attended and graduated from public school and was well prepared for college. I didn't need any remedial classes in Math or English once I got there. I graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a BA in Sacred Music.
As a wife: Scott and I have been married for 9 years. We are an effective team and love each other deeply.
As a Mom and teacher: my son and I experienced private school, home school, and public school. My son graduated from Athens Drive HS.
As a Mema: my grand children have been attending public school: one who is autistic with an IEP, and one who has just graduated. The lock down was disastrous for both of them. I was the teacher's assistant everyday because K5 students could not log in by themselves.
I have served as a member of the PTA, have been in charge of numerous fundraisers, functioned as Safety Patrol supervisor and have spent many hours volunteering in the classroom as well as doing school projects with my child and my grand children. I have also had the honor of being involved in a program for mentoring youth, headed up a Single Parent ministry and was on the leadership team for the Over 50's ministry at my former church.
As an instrumental music educator, my teaching experience is vast. Throughout the past 40 years, I have been instrumental in starting and building several band programs within Wake County. As a result, I have had the honor of inspiring hundreds of children, teens and some adults. The "light bulb" moments that I have encountered with my students never get old!
As your District 5 Board of Education representative, I want to facilitate the change that needs to take place in our educational system. The children of Wake County deserve a quality education that results in academic excellence. The teachers in Wake County shouldn't have to beg for supplies. I am committed to transparency and serving all families!
Will you join me in this endeavor?
"Jackie is a dedicated teacher and grandmother of children in the public school system, including a child with special needs. With her insights from both a teacher and parental role, she has the unique vantage point to address the needs of our children and schools."

"As a public and private school educator for the past 40 years I have seen the long term benefits of a partnership between school and home, of an academically sound education, and a school environment where each child is nurtured and valued. Wake County Public Schools need a voice on their school board that supports each of these values. Therefore I support Jackie Boegel for Wake County School Board, District 5.
